Authority

DRAFT, not legal advice. We wrote this in plain English from what Authority does today. A solicitor hasn't checked it yet, and it may change before we take any payment.

Acceptable use policy

Version draft-2026-10-30 · last updated 30 October 2026

This is part of our terms of service. It applies to you, your team, and any client you give a seat to.

1. Be honest with the people you sell to

Webinars sell. That's fine, but not by misleading people. Don't use Authority to:

Laws such as the UK's Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, the EU's unfair commercial practices rules and the US FTC Act treat these as unlawful. Some Authority settings, like made-up chat, offer countdowns and spots left, can be used honestly or dishonestly. How you use them is your responsibility.

2. Email and texts

3. Recording people

Tell people before they appear on camera or speak in a recorded webinar, and get their agreement where the law needs it. Don't record anyone in secret.

4. Content that isn't allowed

5. Data

Don't collect sensitive data (such as health, religion or sexuality) on sign-up forms unless you have a lawful reason and tell people why. Don't collect card numbers or passwords in sign-up questions or chat.

6. The service itself

7. What we do if this is broken

We may remove content, pause sending, suspend a seat or the whole account, or close it, depending on how serious it is. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. To report something on Authority, email support@useauthority.live.
